• Census, 3 Apr 1881, 13 Queen Street, Rugby, Warwickshire. Listed as: Age 22; Boarder; Occupation - Sawyer. Appears to be lodging with his maternal uncle William, a timber loader.

• Census, 31 Mar 1901, 8 Rowland Street, Rugby, Warwickshire. Listed as a "Wood Machinist" aged 41.

Charles married Amanda Malvina Biggs, daughter of Unknown and Unknown, in 1884 in Northamptonshire. (Amanda Malvina Biggs was born in 1860 in Woolscott, Grandborough, Warwickshire and died in 1951 in Rugby, Warwickshire.)
