Fanny Elizabeth Potter
General Notes: 1901 Census. Chemist and Druggist. Frances (Fanny) Elizabeth Potter was the first woman to qualify for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society after the Pharmacy Act of 1868. She appeared on the Society's register as a Chemist and Druggist in 1870, having qualified on 5th February 1869 by taking the Modified Exam. Noted events in her life were: • Census, 3 Apr 1881, Fleckney, Leicestershire. Listed as: Age 43. Occupation - Chemist & Druggist. Fanny married Abraham Deacon, son of William Deacon and Mary Grant, about 1875 in Fleckney, Leicestershire. (Abraham Deacon was born about 1829 in Fleckney, Leicestershire and died in 1911 in Fleckney, Leicestershire.) |
