George (Deeks) Sargeant
General Notes: Appear to have had a still born child which was buried in Haverhill Cemetery on 4th May 1878. In the 1881 Census he is listed as unmarried, as his Mother-In-Law is a silk weaver and they are back together in the 1891 & 1901 Census I think this must be an error. Noted events in his life were: • Census, 8 Apr 1861, Burton End, Haverhill, Suffolk. Listed as: Age 8; Occupation - Scholar. • Census, 2 Apr 1871, Burton End, Haverhill, Suffolk. Listed as: Age 18. • Census, 3 Apr 1881, 5 Harford Street, Lakenham, Norfolk. Listed as: Age 28; Occupation - Silk Factory Hand; Boarder. Listed as unmarried? • Census, 5 Apr 1891, 50 West Pottergate Street, Norwich, Norfolk. Listed as: Age 38; Occupation - Baker. • Census, 31 Mar 1901, Cromer, Norfolk. Baker and Confectioner, age 48. • Census, 2 Apr 1911, West Street, Cromer, Norfolk. Listed as: Head; Age 58; Occupation - Baker And Confectioner Dealer. George married Emma Fairweather, daughter of Samuel Fairweather and Elizabeth Backler, about 1875. (Emma Fairweather was born about 1853 in Haverhill, Suffolk.) |
