Memorial Inscription St Peter's Church Lawford

Mr James CROFTS of Mount Pleasant in the parish of Church Lawford who died April 2nd 1844 bequeathed five hundred pounds to the minister and parish officers of the said parish to be invested upon good and valid securities and the interest of it to be applied annually for the benefit poor as follows. Ten pounds for the education of five boys and five girls in the principles established church in the parish school according to regulations to be agreed upon by the Trustees. 2 the remainder of the interest to be expended in blankets, sheets and coal to be distributed amongst the most deserving poor on the first day in January in every year.

Mr James CROFTS did also bequeath fifty pounds to be laid out in books by the minister and parish officers of the said parish to form library for the use of the poor John Hands TOWNSEND John DALTON Churchwardens Robert EDMONDS Minister.
