From the Birmingham Daily Post 9 Jun 1893: At the London Guildhall, on Wednesday, Albert E Barnwell, butcher, of Finedon, was fined £50 for having sent to the Central Meat Market the carcass of a sheep that was unfit for human food. Dr Saunders said it was the worst case of the kind he had seen; and it was alleged that sfter defendant had sold the skin the sheep only cost 6d.
