General Notes: Birmingham Daily Post, October 8th, 1862: Rugby and Dunchurch Conservative Association. - The annual ploughing, hedge cutting, and draining matches of this association took place on Monday last, on the farm of Mr J. Downing, at Cawston. The weather was favourable, and a large number of persons attended, among whom were (about 20 names are listed) Mr. W M. Barnwell. RAILWAY RECORDS • Census, 30 Mar 1851, Wolfhampcote, Warwickshire. Farmer of 155 Acres, employing 4 labourers. • Census, 2 Apr 1871, Bilton, Rugby, Warwickshire. Listed as: Widower; Age 58; Occupation - Farmer of 159 acres, employing 3 labourers and 2 boys. William married Elizabeth Downing, daughter of James Downing and Sarah Barnwell, on 4 Jun 1840 in St Peter's, Dunchurch, Warwickshire. (Elizabeth Downing was born about Apr 1814 in Dunchurch, Warwickshire.) |
