In 1881 hotel keeper in Bird Street, Lichfield. Marriage 6th Jan 1863 (Lutterworth 7a13.death reg.jas1906 6b 260). In 1881 he was the Mayor of Lichfield, seen on a board in Lichfield Guild Hall.

Joseph married Helen Binley, daughter of Joseph Binley and Sarah Barnwell, on 6 Jan 1863 in St Editha's, Monks Kirby, Warwickshire. (Helen Binley was born about 1837 in Stretton-under-Fosse, Monks Kirby, Warwickshire and died in 1890.)
