CR4141/7/712 - Letter to Mrs Willes from William Kench enclosing a letter to Mr Kench from Edward Henry Willes. Sent from Dunchurch. He encloses a letter from her son E. H. Willes which he received two years ago concerning payment for a mare which E. H. Willes bought from him in 1846; he also received a letter from her other son saying that if he waited patiently he would be paid; she must allow that he has done so; hopes that she will render him her assistance. 13 Apr 1859.
CR4141/7/801 - Letter to Mr Kench from William Willes. Written at Goodrest Lodge, Reading. In answer to a letter from Mr Kench's solicitor requesting payment of £105 due to Mr Kench from E. H. Willes for the purchase of a horse. 14 Oct 1850.
WILLES FAMILY OF NEWBOLD COMYN Mr. Edward Willes inherited the family estates on the death of his father, the Rev. Edward Willes, in 1820, when Leamington was rapidly being developed, and not long afterwards he began to lay out his property in Leamington and Newbold Comyn to the best advantage of the town. He gave much land for beautifying it including, in 1836, the Newbold Gardens.
